Before Danni and I continue to our planning process we decided to find out what the key differences are between a feature film and a short film so we didn't make any mistakes regarding the differences. For this research I looked on numerous websites and chat forums.

The Wikipedia definition:
A short film is any film not long enough to be considered a feature film. Although no consensus exists as to where that boundary is drawn, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences defines a short film as "an original motion picture that has a running time of 40 minutes or less, including all credits".

I did this to answer my original question "What are the key differences between feature films and short films" so I am in a better position when it comes to making the script for our film and planning it in further.
